Laboratory Activities

There are no core hours.

Participation in seminars and paper reading sessions is required for course credit. These activities are currently held hybrid (in-person + Zoom). All activities are held together without distinction of supervisors. Student rooms are also shared.

Presentations and meetings in the laboratory are conducted in either Japanese or English.

Monthly Seminar, Held Over Two Afternoons

Members report on their research plans and progress in front of the laboratory members.

Twice-Weekly Paper Reading Sessions

Each presenter chooses one paper from several papers they have read and introduces it to the joint laboratory members in about 20 to 30 minutes. Presentation turns are assigned twice a year, but students choose the papers themselves based on their own research topics and interests. Undergraduate students attend as listeners only.

Individual Research Meetings

Individual research meetings are held as needed.
